Cerberus® is job design software used by service companies and operators worldwide to model almost any operation involving the deployment of coiled tubing (CT).
The Cerberus online tutorials introduce new users to Cerberus for Coiled Tubing modeling software and bring them to a minimum level of competency, ideally prior to attending a training class in person. In this manner, students enter the classroom already familiar with navigating the software and some of the basic concepts behind the modeling, allowing more advanced topics to be addressed more quickly. The online material is sufficiently detailed, however, that individuals wishing to teach themselves Cerberus should be able to perform their own job planning even without the benefit of a subsequent class. Experienced users should find them a useful refresher, and may even discover some features that they were not aware of.
Each step that the student should follow is shown in blue text and preceded
by the mouse symbol shown here.
The first example in each tutorial is very straightforward, the second introduces some complications. Each is stand-alone so you can study them independently. This means there is some repetition, but every opportunity is taken to vary the input data where possible. For instance, one scenario involves flow while the other does not. One well is onshore while the other is offshore, and so on. It takes about 2 hours to complete each example.
The tutorials make frequent use of blue information boxes and yellow tip boxes like the ones below. These are used to present background information about the models, or features on the current screen which are useful to know about but not needed for the example. This helps to keep the student on track without being swamped with too much detail.
Evaluating Progress with Quizzes
Each worked example is followed by an online multiple choice quiz. The student is emailed his score but not which questions he got correct. A company can use these quizzes to evaluate the progress made by each student. For example, Baker requires their personnel to attain a minimum score of 80% before attending a class in person. An
example of a quiz
is included in this preview.
Cerberus for Coiled Tubing Books
Each tutorial is accompanied by a 100 page study guide (for a separate charge), in full color with dozens of screen captures from the software. We strongly recommend that you obtain copies for each student as a reference and for studying offline. This is especially valuable for field personnel who can use their waiting/idle time to complete the tutorials where an Internet connection is difficult or not possible at all.

Tip
Useful hints on how to use the software are presented in yellow tip boxes like this one.
